Hinduism does have a spread outside India. Think of the Angkor Wat (World Heritage Site)temple in Cambodia and the Hindu temples in Malaysia and Indonesia- List of Hindu temples outside India.
There are many temples in the South-East where historically Indian kings have actively traded in those regions.
