It's for attractions

raviisidhu: that's what I'm trying to ask why is there attraction b/w positive and negative charges ( electrons & protons

in atom
PROTONS ARE POSITIVELY CHARGED
AND
ELECTRONS ARE NEGATIVELY CHARGED
by this atom got stability

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU
THANKS

keerthan6: if they are concentrated at center atom may collapse it can not able to maintain neutrality
keerthan6: by alpha rays scattering experiment electrons revolution around nucleus but not in fixed path they revolve around and falls in to nucleus if this happen atom will collapse
keerthan6: this universal fact
raviisidhu: but electrons have negligible mass as compared to nucleus of atom it should not affect the stability of atom
keerthan6: it's no matter about its mass but all about its charge
raviisidhu: A universal fact that positive attracts negative but it doesn't seem to work at atomic level
raviisidhu: electrons stay away from protons
keerthan6: to over come alpha rays experiment Bhors Mobley came into existence he said orbits are revolve around nucleus in fixed path but this point was no explained by alpha rays scattering experiment
keerthan6: can you keep positive and negative together? ??????
raviisidhu: In alpha particle rays experiment 1 in 20000 particles got deflected due to positive-positive repulsion b/w alpha particle and gold nucleus. This means there is positive-negative thing inside atoms but when it comes to electrons in atom and protons in its nucleus the positive-negative thing seems to fail.
