Growth of the trees depend on many physical and biological factors like edaphic factors, availability of soil nutrients and water, biomass accumulation. Most of the deserts fall in the areas which get excessive sunlight which increases the evapotranspiration rate.

Tress require some biological and physical factors which are not present in deserts. So there are very few trees in desert to bind soil particle.
