Answer:

Our striated, striped, and skeletal muscles are examples of voluntary muscles since they rely on our willpower. Still, cardiac and smooth muscles are examples of involuntary muscles because they produce their impulse or excitement.

Explanation:

Why do muscles have both voluntary and involuntary functions?

Skeletal muscles that can be consciously controlled to contract and relax are called voluntary muscles. These muscles control how the body moves by joining bones. On the other hand, involuntary muscles are not under conscious control.

  • When we catch a ball, the muscles in our hands are voluntary muscles that can be controlled by conscious thinking. Although the neurological system still regulates the movement of involuntary muscles, such as those that govern the heart's beating, they do not require conscious thinking to move.
  • The purpose of the involuntary muscles is to alter the inner diameter or form of the organs (movement of substances inside the body, favouring possible passageways or the exclusion of contents). The autonomic nervous system controls how they contract. The heart is a prime example of an uncontrollable muscle.

Your voluntary muscles enable you to run, jump, pick up, walk, talk, and do all other simple or intricate daily activities.
