WHY ARE THIRUVANANTHAPURAM AND SHILLONG RAINIER IN JUNE THAN IN JULY?

thiruvanathapuram is at the south west tip and shillong is at the north tip of the south west monsoon cycle.Being closer to the sea TVM gets rains at june and shillong is closer to the himalayan ranges and cooler,gets rains.
