why are traits acquired during the lifetime of an individual not inherited..

For instance - you learn to speak french or learn to swim.It is not necessary that your kid too has to acquire these skills.
You Kid cannot speak french unless taught to him.
Because the changes take place in the non-reproductive tissues of the body whilst changes in the inherited traits can be passed over to the f2 generation.

1 acquired traits are not inherited because they dont change the distribution of genes in an oraganism
2 only those traits which cause a change in dna of the organism can be inherited
