Tropical evergreen forest are names so because they don't have a definite time or season to shed their leaves as they are composed of different types of vegetation in different regions and thus, they appear green all around the year. So as they don't have a definite time for shedding, they produce enough oxygen.As all the trees in an area produces oxygen, there will be sufficient amount of oxygen in the atmosphere. So they are called as the lungs of the earth.
