Metals absorb heat and the non metal does not absorb heat so when we touch non metal tumbler we feel it cold but if we touch metal tumbler we will feel hot as it absorbs heat.

If they would have been made up of heat, they would become very hot when tea would have been poured into it. So, it would have been difficult to even touch it.
