During the titration of oxalic acid against sodium hydroxide(strong base), there will be the formation of basic salt whose pH ranges from 8 to 10,  

Phenolphthalein is often used as an indicator in acid-base titrations. It will appear pink in basic solutions and clear in acidic solutions. It is known as the titrant.
