why are veins in old persons are more prominent

Unlike arteries , veins are superficially present but in young people and adult .. taking about the males they have hairy layer over the skin which refreshes time to time and females have aerolar tissue coat beneath skin ... thus making veins less visible but in old people both degenerates so with time their veins become more prominent
