Why are ventricles thicker walled than the atria?

This is because blood is pumped out of the heart at greater pressure from these chambers compared to the atria. The left ventricle also has athickermuscular wall than the right ventricle.

As the speed of flowing 9f de-oxygenated blood is very low and if the atria will have thick walls then it will burst out(speed of flowing of blood is very high.)
