why are viruses considered as being at the border line between living and nonliving things

Viruses are on the borderline between living and nonliving because they show the body properties when they inside the host body they show livingproperties and they considered asliving because they have their own DNA and RNA

It is so because they show characteristics of both living and non living things as when they are flowing in air they show characteristics of non living things but when they come in contact with anything like a door knob or any plant they show characteristics of living things . So they consider as borderline between living and non living things.......
