why are viruses considered at the borderline between living and non-living things?

They are considered at the borderline between living and non-living because they work as both living and non-living. When they not in contact of living organism it is dead but when it come in contact of living organism it is alive and start to reproduce ( multiply ).

viruses are the connecting link between living and non living bcoz
1.if they are on host then they behave as living
2.if they are out of the body of host they behave as non living
they are harmful only when they are in a living form if they made someone their host then breaks down the hellical structure of the host but only in living form
they respire,they reproduce like living only when they are in the body of host
