Why are we able to see things during day only but not at night?

It's because of our star, Sol, the sun, combined with the rotation of Earth. The sun is always there no matter what time it is, but this planet rotates and orbits. That causes the shift in light. It's always “daylight” somewhere on earth, same with night.
