the rate of evaporation increases with an increase of surface area in the case of saucer as compared to the cup. so we are able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup .

because in saucer tea is easily cool down as compared to cup
also,in saucer area is more than cup area . that's why we are able to sip hot tea faster from a saucer rather than from a cup
