usually we drink hot tea or milk it means the temperature is warmer which is not suitable for us as the surface area of cup is close by which the heat cannot evaporate in our surroundings but whereas in saucer the surface is exposed to surrounding which means its open and heat get evaporated which is comfortable for us to drink.
