____________________________

\underline{\bf{CONCEPT}}

● Evaporation causes cooling

● The rate of evaporation increases with increase in surface area

___________________________

We are able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather in a cup because the surface area of saucer is more than that of the cup. When the surface area increases , the rate of evaporation also increases. Evaporation causes cooling by absorbing energy from the surroundings and hence , the hot tea or milk cools fast and we are able to sip them faster in a saucer.
