why are we looking at alternate source of energy

Because the conventional sources of energy are nonrenewable . Non renewable resources like Coal Petroleum fossil fuels nucleur fuels these all required millions of years for their formation that's why they cannot be renewed easily. To conserve them we need to think about some of the alternative sources of energy like wind energy solar energy tidal energy wave energy etc

Use of fossil fuels in excessive amount would result in extension of it that will affect the future generations. So, to minimize the use of these sources, we are looking for renewable sources of energy.
