In a dark room we are not able to see because of absence of light . Light is a form of energy which is itself invisible but enables us to see other objects .

  • It travels with a speed of 3 × 10⁸ m / s .
  • It is a electromagnetic wave .
  • It has dual nature i.e. it shows it both wave and particle property.
  • It is a non - mechanical wave as it doesn't requires any medium to travel.
  • Visible light that enables us to see has a very small wavelength that is it lies in the range of 400nm - 700nm .
  • It is a transverse wave .
  • Light from sun takes about 8min 16s to reach earth.
  • Light can go 7 times earth in one second .
