Importance of Flora and Fauna. The importance of flora or plants on the land or in the oceans makes our life possible. Plants are the oxygen producing and carbon dioxide absorbing natural apparatus without which life would not be possible. Besides the plants are essential resource for human well-being.

The reasons to conserve them are:

1) To maintain biodiversity - this ensures that the variety of plants and animals are maintained in the environment such that no species are lost.

2)To maintain ecological balance - ecological balance is very important because life is supported by this balance. It is the life cycle that maintains life processes.

3)For the future - the future generation will also need to be supported by the flora and fauna that supports life today, hence it is crucial that they are conserved so as to protect the future generation
