WEEDS AND WILD PLANTS SECRETE A POISONOUS LIQUID WHICH IS WHY THEY ARE NOT AFFECTED BY INSECTS.

They secrete phytohormones, or plant hormones, which repel insects and pests. They are poisonous to them.
