education is one of the major determinants of the earning of an individual in the market. As a majority of the women in India have lesser education and lesser skilk than men due to traditional reasons, they are paid less than men or are employed in low paid work.

Another reason is that jobs involving physical labour are entrusted ti men only due to their physique , here women cannot do as much physical work as men.
Women also generally have an additional responsibility of looking after their family and children and so they cannot be as regular as men in their duties.
So, they are often given non critical and low paid work.

One major reason for this is the inadequate education qualification of women. Women are employed in sectors that do no provide them with proper maternity leaves, child care benefits and other provisions and are also responsible for maintaining and managing the household work. Hence they are paid less than men. Technical skill is another factor that pays women less than men. In general, terms mean are considered as more skilful than women, despite equal physical work. Also, the job location atters for a women. A women in statistics usually refuses to the relocation of job during her job period and restricts for the time limits or night shifts. Hence due to all these cumulative reasons, women are employed in low paid work.
