INTRODUCTION:Xylem and pholem together form the vascularbundles.
.These tissues help in transport of materials are called as vascular tissues .
XYLEM:1)It transport water and minerals from roots to the apical parts of the plant.
2)Xylem consists of trachieds, vessels, xylem fibers and xylem parenchyma.
3)Xylem gives mechanical strength to the plant.
4)Conduction of water by xylem is unidirectional i.e., from roots to apical parts of the plant.
PHLOEM:1)It transport food material from the leaves to growing parts of the plants.
2)Phloem consists of seive tubes, seive cells, companion cells, phloem fibers and parenchyma.
3)It does not give mechanical strength to the plants.
4)Food materials conduction is bidirectional i.e.,from leaves to storage organs or from storage organs to growing parts of plants.

.Hence they are known as
conducting or vascular tissues or vascular bundles.
