Why are zinc and cadmium not counted as transition metals even though they belong to the d-block?
plz tell me in detail

although they belong to d block but they r not counted as transition elements. their outermost shell contain 4s² electron they can lose only 2 electron in order to get stable and their d subshell will remain having electron equals to 10
For a transition elements it should show the variable oxidation state in d subshell but they lose electron through s subshell only
