why are zinc granules used in preparation of hydrogen​

Preparation/reaction -

Here,

we mostly use HCl acid which is very common for preparation of hydrogen.

Example -

Zn + 2HCl ----> ZnCl2 + H2

Above is the balanced reaction for the preparation of hydrogen gas through zinc element.
