In any aromatic compound, stability is due to pi-bond delocalization. That is an aromatic compound is stable due to these pi-bond delocalization. In electrophilic addition reaction, this pi-bond delocalization is disrupt, that is why an aromatic compound prefers aromatic substitution reaction rather than electrophilic addition reaction.
