Article 17 of the Indian Constitution relates to abolition of the practice of untouchability.

EXPLANATION:

    Article 17 of the Indian constitution provides for the abolition of the practice of untouchability. Untouchability is obliterated and its usage in any form is prohibited. The implementation of any disability stemming from Untouchability is an offence punishable according to the law. Article 17 provide penalties for stopping an individual from drinking/taking water from a well/tank or entering any place of worship.

   This Article 17 stipulates that whatever is open to the general public must be also open to the people of scheduled caste/Dalits/scheduled tribes or any other castes who are discriminated against by the upper caste society.
