why arunachal pradesh has least density in 2011
Answers
The population of Arunachal Pradesh is 1,383,727 as per the census of 2011 and the area is 83,743 Sq KM . This makes the population density to be about 17 per per Sq KM , the lowest in India. The reasons for such low population is due to harsh living conditions , which are due to :
Most of the state is covered by dense forest , about 51,540 Sq KM or 61.55% of the land area is recorded as under forest cover .As per satellite observation made in 2008 80.5% is under forest cover[].Most of this forest is very difficult for human habitation(20% categorised as deep canopy forest) .
Most of region is under high altitude mountainous region of Himalaya, this makes transportation hard and the weather cold and rainy.
Lack of access to medical facility had ensured that the region had high mortality rates and also high infant mortality rates, this is changing significantly in the last couple of decades.
Over all Arunachal Pradesh is a tough place to live in , the population is concentrated in the valley regions near rivers where forest cover is not very deep and such places are very few . Also in the such valley regions the transportation is far from good and modern medical facility are difficult to access . All these reasons together ensure that the population is very low.
As per a report by population foundation of India , the population of Arunachal Pradesh will double by 2061.
