Why Asbestos sheets preferred over iron

Abestos is a bad conductor of heat. Whereas Iron is good conductor of electricity and heat.

So from the early 20th century Abestos has been used for roofing instead of iron because being an insulator it keeps room cool in summer and hot in winter.
