Answer :

Assam is called as the gateway to North-East India as it is strategically located in the northeast of India. The state is bordered in the North and East by Arunachal Pradesh, while Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram lie towards the South. Meghalaya lies to the South-West of the state.

Assam is the commercial hub of North-eastern India and is well-connected with the rest of the country through roads, railways and domestic and international flights through Guwahati Airport.
