Hi,
Atomic radius decreases down a group, this is because of the increase in the number of electrons. Increase in the number of electrons in turn increases the number of shells, that is, energy levels. Hence there is an increase in Atomic Radius.
Hope it helps.......

Answer:
- As we move from top to bottom in a group, number of shells increases.
- The outermost electrons go farther and farther from the nucleus, extending the radius and ultimately increasing the size of the atom even though the nuclear charge increases.
Hence, atomic radius goes on increasing down a group.
Hope you understood mate!!!
