why atoms are neutral

Atoms are neutral because they have equal number of protons and electrons. If they have more protons they become positive ions - cations and if they have more electrons they become negatively charged ions - anions.

because the number of electron is equal to the number of protons electron are negatively charged and protons are positively,they cancel each other
