Why aurobindo society is not a religious denomination?

A religious denomination must always satisfy the conditions as stated by the constitution of India.

Article 26 implies that, A religion must be based on certain beliefs which must be followed by certain group of individuals.

Above point merely indicate that Ideas,Opinions does not constitute to be a Religion

As Aurobindo society merely existed upon the ideas and philosophy of Aurobondo, though followed by certain group, but still does not constitute belief , hence Aurobindo Society was not merely a Religious Denomination.
