island is define as landmass surrounded by water in its three side in Australia no part landmass is surrounded by water bodies


asseembhinder: island's are either extensions of Oceanic crust or geologically they are part of some continent sitting on continental lithosphere. But Australia which sits on its own continental lithosphere and tectonic plates can be considered as a continent
