Yes , Awadh was a very important state for Mughals as it was a fertile area controlling the rich alluvial Ganga plain and was the major trade route between North India and Bengal . But because of decline of Mughal authority , Awadh controlled by Burhan-ul-mulk Sa’adat Khan became an independent state and started to have its own administration. Hence , it was Said That Awadh was one of the most important cities to emerge out of the break up with Mughals
