Bangalore is the silicon city of India because Bangalore is on the Mysore plateau, which is sometime also referred to as the silicon plateau. It was once called the garden city because of its many green spaces.

Silicon City:

Silicon valley originally belongs to San Francisco in the USA. It is the biggest hub of information technology in the world. Bangalore was also known as the city of garden.

However, with ease of accessibility and temperature favoring the city, this place is the home of the biggest IT hub in India. Hence, this city is known as "silicon valley of India". Reputed IT companies like Wipro Infotech Ltd, TCS, etc have a head office over here.
