Why benzene undergo electrophilic substitution reaction whereas alkenes undergo addition reaction?

Explanation:

in benzene, inspite of 3 double bonds, it undergo substitution coz of delocalisation of electrons it behaves as saturated hydrocarbon

in alkenes electrons are easily available for addition
