because bond angle in becl2 is 180 while in water it is 104

Explanation:

In beryllium chloride (BeCl_{2}), there is no lone pair on beryllium atom. The chlorine atoms attached to it experience electron-electron repulsion.

As a result, the chlorine atoms move far away from each other in order to attain stability of the compound. Therefore, it results in the formation of an angle of 180 degrees.

Therefore, the shape of (BeCl_{2}) is linear.

In case of water (H_{2}O), there is a lone pair present on oxygen atom. As a result, there is lone pair-bond pair repulsion.

So, in order to attain stability there is a bent in the shape and the angle formed is 104 degrees. Therefore, the shape of water molecule is bent shape.
