bleaching powder gets oxidised fast with oxygen present in the atmosphere and also it is a good oxidizing angent so it is kept closed in containers

Bleaching powder also known as Calcium OxyChloride, is kept in air tight container so that it doesn't come under the influence of air.
On reaction with CO2 it forms CaCO3 and Chlorine.
CaOCl2 +CO2 => CaCO3 + Cl2.
