Blood grp ab is cosidered as universal recipient as
1) it has both antigen a and b onits surface thus can accept blood from both a and b blood group donors
2)it does not have any antibody on its surface
3) blood group o can donate blood to all blood group ppl as have no antigen on its surface so also called universal fonor...
As the person of blood group ab can recieve blood from all blood group ppl so called universal recipient...

Hope this helps u!!!

AB blood group is universal recipient because

Firstly it can get blood from the following blood group donors
“O” “A” “B”
As it has both antigens of A and B present on it.

Secondly it can receive blood from blood group O donors because it has no antigens present on its surface which makes them universal donors.
