Although Bohr's model was highly applicable to the hydrogen atom, it could not be applied to atoms other than hydrogen which consisted of multi-electrons. As Broglie and Schrödinger later suggested that as light was found to exist as either a particle or a wave, the electron could also exist as either one of them.
