bombay was considered as a prime city of india becoz in mid seventeenth century  bombay became east india companies principal western port , replacing surat .later by the end of nineteenth century it had became an imp administrative as well as industrial centre. all through these years the prospects of trade and commerce n employment was increasing . there by making bombay an attractive destinations for migrants
