Boric acid that is H3BO3 is a weak monobasic Lewis acid rather having 3 hydroxyl group because it central atom boron is electron deficient with 6 electron so it accepts lone pair from oxygen in h2o in its vacant p orbital and then water release H+ ion.
H3BO3 + H2O → B(OH)4 + H+
