Why boric acid is a weak monobasic acid ?

Boric acid is also known as orthoboricacid. Although Boric acid contains 3 OH groups yet it can acts asmonobasic acid rather than tri basicacid. This is because boric acid does not act as proton donor rather it accepts a lone pair of electrons from OH- ions.
