why boron do not react with water​

Action of air and water: Boron is an inert element and does not reactdirectly either with water or air. ... Uponreaction with water, aluminum forms a layer of oxide which prevents its further reaction. Gallium and indium are inert and do not react with air even at higher temperatures.

Boron as valency 1s2  2s2  2p1.                         So it as valeny 3 h2o  oxygen as 2valency. So it won't react
