Bryophyta called the amphibians of the plants kingdom because they can live on both land and in water but need water for reproduction. .
This plants are thalloid, multicellular, and autotrophic. The structure of the plants body of Bryophyta is flat, ribbons like long, without true roots, stem and leaves.
Instead they have stem like or leaf like parts and roots like rhizoids.
They do not have tissues for conduction of food and water.
For example Moss(Funaria) Marchantia,Anthoceros,Riccia,etc..

Amphibians are the organisms which live on both water and land. Bryophytas are called the amphibians of plant kingdom because these plants though live in soil but they need water for sexual reproduction. The sperm of bryophyta are flagellate and need water to swim to the eggs.
