Btyophytes and Pteridophytes are very delicate to withstand the sun rays and they reproduce through spores which require moist places to germinate and grow into new plants . Thus they grow in the moist and shady places.they need water for survival but do not have specialized structures like xylem, vessels etc as in higher plants so they thrive better in moist and shady conditions.
