Why calamine lotion applied on skin when ant bites

Ant sting contains formic acid. When an ant bites, it injects this formic acid into the skin. This causes pain. Calamine solution contains zinc carbonate which is a base. Calamine solution neutralize the effect of acid of ant bite when applied on the skin.

Ant bite containing formic acid when enter's in our body we feel some burning sensation to work on it as a base we use calamine lotion to fight with the burning sensation and cool it !
