Calcium Oxide: Conductor of Electricity:
- First of all, what kind of compound is CALCIUM OXIDE?
- Calcium Oxide is an ionic compund which produces ions namely in aqueous solution or in molten state.
- These ions are charge carriers and hence are able to conduct electricity.
- So, CaO can be used as an electrolyte to conduct electricity in aqueous solution or in molten state. But it doesn't conduct electricity in SOLID STATE.
Hope It Helps.
