Why can a tadpole breathe in water?

during the tadpole stage they breathe like a fish, by passing oxygenated water through their gills and absorbing the oxygen

•While they are tadpoles,they have gills.

•The oxygen dissolved in water is taken through the gills.

•After Maturing,it has lungs.

•On land,it breathes through the Moist skin.

•It can live on land for 4-7 hours.
